Fiber Array (FA) 4CH 8° Side-Polished

Description

Fiber Array (FA) is an assembly in which multiple optical fibers are arranged at a defined channel pitch and precisely fixed onto a V-groove substrate. This model assembles a single 4-fiber ribbon onto the V-groove substrate at a defined pitch and polishes it into an 8° side-polished endface, which significantly reduces the coupling alignment loss of the waveguide device.

Materials & Process

• V-groove substrate: quartz (JGS2, Borofloat 33, etc.) or silicon, precision-grooved to form V-shaped channels
• Fiber: standard singlemode fiber or polarization-maintaining fiber; pigtails or patch cords can be added per application
• Fixing and bonding: after the fibers are placed in the V-grooves they are secured with low-shrinkage, low-stress UV or epoxy adhesive
• Endface polishing: endface flatness and fiber height are controlled; 0°, 42.5° and protruding-fiber endfaces are supported

Note: A / B / C are array reference-face dimensions — the customer drawing governs. Ribbon color and pigtail length can be customized to requirement.
